Smallhold

Smallhold is revolutionizing urban agriculture by growing organic specialty mushrooms through a network of local farms, reducing food miles and connecting people with fresher, more sustainable produce. With varieties like blue oyster and lion's mane, Smallhold promotes eco-friendly practices and a healthier lifestyle through delicious, locally grown mushrooms.
Branding

From Smallhold’s inception, we collaborated on their brand identity, naming, and packaging to bring mushrooms into the mainstream. Our goal was scalability, developing a flexible packaging system that allowed the team to refine their designs while maintaining a unique aesthetic that stood out in the industry.

Illustration

Drawing inspiration from the iconic Whole Earth Catalog, we crafted an illustration style that reflects the distinct culture and innovative spirit of Smallhold. These visuals celebrate their unique products and values.

Product Design

With a loyal following, Smallhold wanted to expand into merchandise beyond mushrooms. We built a custom Shopify site to support their new product lines, featuring tailored content for recipes, product launches, and company updates.

Results

Super-Conscious played a pivotal role in Smallhold Mushrooms’ growth by securing their seed and Series A funding through strategic branding and pitch materials. We designed the initial MVP of their eco-friendly mushroom packaging, which helped establish their brand identity and resonate with environmentally conscious consumers. This effort contributed to securing nationwide distribution in Whole Foods, positioning Smallhold as a leader in sustainable food production. Additionally, we supported their digital presence, growing their social media following to an impressive 68k, solidifying their connection with a loyal audience.
