How much does a brand system cost?

A brand system from a professional studio typically runs $25,000–$80,000 depending on scope. That range reflects the difference between a focused identity system for an early-stage company and a full brand platform for a company operating across multiple markets and teams.

What drives the cost

Scope is the primary driver. A brand system for a single product targeting one audience is a different engagement than one that needs to work across a product suite, multiple buyer types, and a distributed marketing team. More surfaces, more complexity, more cost.

Strategy depth matters too. Studios that include brand strategy, positioning, and verbal identity as part of the system charge more than those delivering visual identity alone. The strategy work is where the leverage is, and skipping it usually means revisiting the design sooner.

What you get at each level

At $25,000–$40,000: logo and mark system, color and typography, basic usage guidelines, and core templates. Right for early-stage companies that need a professional identity and a system to use it.

At $40,000–$65,000: everything above plus brand strategy, verbal identity, messaging framework, a broader template set, and a brand guidelines document built for a team. Right for companies that are scaling and need brand to function without a designer in the room.

At $65,000–$80,000 and above: full brand platform work, typically spanning multiple sub-brands or product lines, deeper research, and a system built for enterprise use. Right for companies with complex brand architecture or multiple markets.

Why the cheapest option usually costs more

A brand built without strategy gets replaced.
