Overview

Arbitrum is one of the biggest chains in crypto, and developers love it. It wanted to win institutions too, and needed to look the part. We rebranded it, built the new website, and have made a steady run of creative for X, its main channel — including a video that became its second-best performer ever, behind only a free-money giveaway — plus an interview series with some of the top people in the industry and campaigns built to bring in leads. For its parent company we took Offchain Labs to Offchain.

Brand

A brand that looks the part for institutions

Developers already loved Arbitrum; institutions needed to see a brand that looked the part. We rebuilt the identity system, color, type, illustration and motion from the ground up — as confident as the product, and flexible enough for every surface the team would grow into.

Website

A site for every audience Arbitrum wants to win

We designed and built the new arbitrum.io in the rebrand’s system. It speaks to each audience on its own page, from finance teams and consumer apps to game studios, builders and teams launching their own chain, with an Arbitrum 101 for anyone new to it. The product is shown as working interface, not stock imagery, and every page ends on the same next step. For the business, one site now does the work of several pitches, telling institutions and developers alike why to build on Arbitrum.

Campaigns

X, the channel Arbitrum lives on

Most of what we make for Arbitrum is for X: a steady run of creative for the channel its community actually watches.

Video

Their second-best video ever

One of the videos we made became Arbitrum’s second-best performer of all time. The only one ahead of it gave away free money.

Interview series

The people shaping the industry, on camera

An interview series with some of the top people in the industry, made for Arbitrum.

Product video

Dynamic pricing, explained

A product explainer for Arbitrum’s dynamic pricing. It tells the idea as a toll bridge: when traffic builds, one fee for everyone makes every trip dearer, so each kind of traffic gets its own lane and its own toll, and pricing becomes fairer for the people using it. It closes on the line that sums it up, “Your gas goes further on Arbitrum, everywhere,” and runs as square and vertical cuts for the feed.

Product video

What scaling makes possible, in a minute

A one-minute film on what it means for Arbitrum to scale. It moves through a run of collage, type and illustration, a new look for nearly every idea, from paying at a café counter and trading stock to in-game microtransactions, seamlessness, decentralization and culture, and lands on Arbitrum Everywhere. For the business, it puts an infrastructure idea in terms anyone scrolling past can follow.

Lead generation

Campaigns built to bring in leads

A run of campaigns aimed at the institutions Arbitrum wanted to reach, built to turn attention into conversations.

Kaito Leaderboard

The Marketing Department, episode one

The first film in The Marketing Department, a mockumentary series, made to launch the Kaito Leaderboard. A marketing team shuts itself in for a Q3 strategy session, the whiteboard fills up with Kaito, and seven hours later, having mined vibes, reverse-engineered community and invented three new acronyms, it lands on what the algorithm actually wanted: yapping. It turned a complex rewards programme into a clear story and helped drive one of the protocol’s top-performing campaigns. For the business, it gives Arbitrum a sense of humour on the channel its community watches, and a reason to join the leaderboard.
